Sacagawea Dollars

The Sacagawea Dollar was first minted in 2000. It is a distinct golden color, but contains no gold. It is actually a pure copper core, with outer layers of manganese brass (.770 copper, .120 zinc, .070 maganese, .040 nickel).
From 2000-2008 the soaring eagle was depicted on the reverse. Since 2009 there have been annual changes to the reverse design and is now referred to as the Native American Dollar.
